During this pandemic, we have all had to become our own photographers. Not just selfies and landscape photos, but product photos. We spend hours trying to find the right angle, the right light, and the right background to make our product photo pop. A few months ago, I chatted with Photographer, Videographer, and Editor, Carmen Veronica about our A La Mode Mondays (IG Live Series) and how to take those product photos.

Lighting: Lighting can make or break your photos. A ring light can bring your photos to life. A ring light is designed as a ring to give your photos even lighting.

Styling: A person wants to feel like your product is a part of their life. So adding complementary items to your product photos will help set the scene. For example, if you sell wine, add some grapes, a cheeseboard, a wine glass, etc. to the photo instead of a stand-alone bottle.

“Golden hour is a great hack. Take your photos as the sun is going down. Everything looks great. ” – Carmen Veronica

Adding People: Again people want to see themselves using your products. However, you are selling a product, not that person. Use “Live Focus” on your phone camera, which will blur the background and focus on the development. You get the benefit of having people in your photos without them being a distraction.

Keep clicking. Keep snapping. Keep editing. Find your style and soon you will have eye-catching product photos.
